Stefan's gear as of this tour

Topics about musical instruments other than guitar should go here. There's bound to be a Carter, LeRoi, or Yo-Yo Ma out there.

Stefan's gear as of this tour

Unread post by i like tictacs » Wed Jun 30, 2004 1:56 pm

Modulus (Flea) 4 String
Modulus (Flea) Custom 5 String
Modulus Quantum 5 String Fretless
DR Lo-Rider strings (I've also heard them to be Thomastik-Infeld Power Bass Strings)
Ampeg SVT-2 and SVT-4 Pro Heads
Ampeg Anniversary Classic Cabinets
Furman PL-8 Power Conditioner
Shure U4D-UB Wireless Units
Eventide GTR-4000 Ultra-Harmonizer
Whirlwind 4ch Multi Selector
Korg DTR-1000 Digital Tuner
Rane SM26B Splitter/Mixer

I found this on DMB's site, hidden somewhere, and it said "updated june 2004" so it seems legit.

i wish he would use that warwick dolphin that he used as his main on listener supported...obviously its a different sound and not his favorite, but i think it looks the best.

No shit, it sounded so nice. That's why I bought a Warwick, I love that tone, and I'm about to splurge on an Aphex Expressor. God help me and my job. I'm making a sign that will say "BRING BACK THE DOLPHIN" and i'm bringing it to both nights.

Yep, his Flea 5 is custom-- the obvious part is the 24-fret neck. Hard to say what else is in there.

I've seen used Dolphins go for under $2000. Actually I've seen one guy on bassgear.com trying to sell a 98 Dolphin 4-string for like $1700-$1800 for quite a while now, but for that kind of cash I'd make darn sure he is legitimate. They might be few and far between, but I'd get my cash ready and be patient before dropping $3000 on a new one.

One thing for sure, is that Stefan is a rack equipment junkie.
