B:-3--------------------1-------------------
G:-2----------2---------2--0h2--0-----------
D:-0--0--2/4-----4--0---2----------4--2--4--
A:------------------------------------------
E:------------------------------------------

Ive heard him play it this way and I think it sounds better, anyone else?
I know its very minuted I just noticed it.
you know...I think it does kind of sound better that way, but dave does play it how it is on the site...the ones on the site are the right notes...It could possibly be that you are confusing dave's guitar with tim's as tim does a slide on there...

Ok, just listened to it....I think on the Luther College version he isn't strumming the chord, i think it is a mute...anyway, i still must stand by my version. :?

I remember where I saw that, its in my "Crash" tab book. I dont know if Ive just heard Timmy in the background everytime Ive heard it or what but I deffinatley hear it. Maybe he played it that way when he recorded it for Crash cuz thats how it is in the book. Anyways its all just personal preference, I think it sounds good/better.

suit yourself, but I think I have a pretty good ear for this sort of thing....lol, and I know I can differentiate between a mute and a strum etc...I would honestly say that he plays it both ways...One way with a mute and one way with a strum.......but the clip you have is lacking one more mute or strum...

i know exactly how to play it that way, but i can't hear dave playing it obviously or clearly that way....im watching the storytellers vid right now, and i am positive he does it my way, buy i guess you could be right about luther college, just dont know...i have actually thought that his entire rythm is different on that album, especially the main intro riff (not nature intro)

Yes the slide is in the book, the way I play it is exactly the way it is in the Hal Leonard Brand DMB Crach tab book.

Though its been said many times before, I have to remind you that those tab books blow. There's probably not one song in there thats completely right. Dave plays the liog part in question exactly the way it is on this site, at least at a vast majority of live shows. Having said that, I do think it sounds better the other way. (hitting the open d) Whatever.

bla dee... they all sound good, but you need to sing lol - the guitar sounds good, you using the Gibson???

oh, but where is the high E notes on PFWYG that we agreed sounded more like the way Dave plays it???

and the intro/bridge to BOWA is an A and not an Am dude...

#40 is such a cool song (thought I would say that)

as for the high E...thats UTTER bullshit...Dave has NEVER played it that way....not even while taking a shit and playing the guitar.

and the BOWA IS an Am....listen to his acoustic solos and you'll see...pick one where he plays by himself...like in 93...lates!
