Help with So Much to Say

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Help with So Much to Say

Unread post by coyoteguy » Tue Jun 29, 2004 9:25 pm

Whats up guys and girls? I having a little trouble with SMTS and I am sure its common and that this thread has been posted, but forgive me me asking if it has. Nyway, when you play the intro and right before you slide from the 3 to the 5, do you back slide from the 8 to the 3 first? Hopefully I explained that well enough. Thanks

I use my ring finger to slide form the 8th to the 5th, then my middle finger to go from the 3rd to the 5th to start the riff back over. I dont think dave uses those same fingers but Id say 8th-5th should be right.

I do the same. If you play it correctly your ring should land right on the 8th fret to slide right back down to about the 5th but it shouldn't be exactly at the 5th fret. Once you get the flow of the song your hands will just do it for you

You can always just mute it instead of sliding. Thats how he does it in Central park.
