problems recording my 12 string...

Well, that is that...I can't get my 12 to sound right...it comes up too muffled or too "bright" sounding...using my BR-8 I have tried EVERYTHING to get it to sound somewhat like the guitar actually sounds...when I tried to record Flouresence, it sounded way to messy as compared to when I play it outright...I have fooled with every editing tool in my power...I have a Dean Markley single coil job but does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can remedy this?

By the way, my youth pastor and I traded guitars for the weekend...now he has Chet and I have his $1,300 Martin ;p

Now if I can only get my computer back so I can make some room to record new tunes including a John Mayer/Dave Matthews/Keller Williams style "pickless" original jam...I will return full-time this week, I promise!

firedancer youre lucky for getting that type of deal dude.. id take a martin over a chet anyday. as for the 12 string, ive had some trouble recording mine too. its not like yours (mine sounded like it had distortion), but maybe its caused by the same thing. try playing away from your mic. thats all the advice i can offer.

Well it's not that...I'm not using my mic...hehehe...

now I just figured out how to play KW's Eyes of the World...but it won't sound good...

probably a stupid question but how are you recording without a mic? do you have one of those sound cards you can plug into or something?

Dean Markley single coil pickup...just slap it acros the sound hole and you can plug it in...oh, and I just now got the trick...I plugged it into my "mic" output - strange enough - and it comes up pretty clear...I will have "Flouresence" up ASAP...
