Bluesy Hendrix Cover

Unread post by juineaux » Fri Mar 28, 2003 10:58 pm

I decided to try something a little bluesy and a cover. I did it somewhat quickly so there are definatley some little problems. Please tell me what you think.

Wow :D
I didnt get any responses for a while, so I figured it sucked. Thanks for boosting my confidence again. I just use regular $300 Washburn acoustic guitar with a glass slide plugged into my computer. I just started playing the blues a couple of months ago(I always ignored it because I was learning DMB and John mayer type of stuff), But Im really been loving it lately. Anyone else have some advice?

I liked it too...It was very good with those two guitars going....your voice seemed a lot more in key on this one than it has before in the past...I really like that raspiness to it too...very well done...

i liked it a lot. you differed from the hendrix version and brought it back to a more traditional blues. although, i must say i prefer hendrix's high intensity solos over your mellow one, your's was excellent. great job man!

Thanks, I figured there was no way I was going to be able to play like hendrix, so I just kept the solo nice and simple.

very solid, a quite enjoyable listen once again. a little nitpick though - jimi hendrix didn't write hey joe, billy roberts did, so technically it would be a billy roberts cover. not that it's really that important, just something that quite a few people don't know

Thanks, Youre right I didnt know that was written by Billy Roberts. Ive been finding out more and more that some of my favorite classic rock songs were not written by who I thought. like led Zeppelin.... :x :x
