Granny Mistake
My friend swears that the Granny tabs are this site are wrong. She claims it's a million times easier to just start with a D Chord, and then hammer on the High E string and slide up, instead of starting higher up on the neck where it's harder. Two questions: Doesn anyone even know what the hell I'm talking about?;) Second question, is this true? And if it is, does this make it official that dave sometimes makes things harder than it should be, or is the site wrong? Thanks!

Re: Granny Mistake
first of all, it's a she...that should tell you something....second of all, look at listener supported as it is very obvious that dave plays it like it is on this site...there IS a difference in the sound of just a d chord and the wway dave plays it, that only a person that really appreciates dave matthews is gonna hear...Dave never makes things harder than they should be...it's always for a reason, always(for the reason here, it is that you get a fuller sound as you are hitting an extra string)....and that's what makes him the greatest songwriter of all time....peace!Doron Diamond wrote:My friend swears that the Granny tabs are this site are wrong. (adam raises his hand in agreement with jason)
i totally agree, dave does it for a reason,
different ways are out there, but, dave knows what he is doing,
jason can tend to be a little blunt and straight to the point, but
i wont hold that against him at all, cuz he is right nearly every time,
and i have heard his shit, and he is a great player, so take his advice anyone novice out there, and you will get somewhere, he knows what he is talking about, even when he may be blunt, respect the posts cuz they are right
MY 100th POST!!!!, and let me tell you, i would have many more if i would have been able to use the boards for the months they didnt work cuz of my browser, i switched browsers, and it worked, so i started posting, i cant even imagine all the times i wanted to post and wasnt able to...
peace
