Tripping Billies video

Unread post by unccharlotte07 » Thu Mar 18, 2004 2:10 am

I'd like to have the video for the verse put back up. Even if it's not that great of a video, it's better than nothing. I really want to learn the verse of that song, and I need to be able to hear and see it to learn it. And sorry if this topic has been discussed recently, but I tried to do a search and just got all kinds of random crap. Hey, I have another suggestion while I'm thinking about it. I think you should be able to search for keywords in the topic subjects instead of just in the posts.

I came to shed a little light on this darkening scene

i believe that DustyDave made a vid of Tripping Billies, not 100% sure though. You should try to hit him up on AIM and ask him

I found boris playing it, and while it is really awesome, it doesn't really help me because he is left handed, the fretboard is kinda small in the video, and also it needs to be slowed down a little bit for me to follow it.

don't take this the wrong way...but playing the guitar isn't necessarily supposed to be easy...just practicing something will teach you how to do it better than anything else...i'm not trying to be critical or anything, but practice will do you more good than a vid (at least i hope)
B+P by offer only...thank you

But the thing is I'm trying to learn it the way it's tabbed, and I could be wrong (it does happen from time to time) but the way boris is playing it doesn't sound exactly the way it's tabbed on this site.

Learn it without the video. Dun-dun-dun! I understand the use of a video of an artist playing a song to transcribe it in the right position, but I think the inability to play something just by reading it and listening to the song is something that alot of people on these boards need to start working on. Trust me, in the end you will be a better guitarist for it.

Some people are visual learners.....

Dude, if you want me to do a video for you let me know. I can do it. Just PM me and don't listen to these people. We all learn in different ways.

I found the use of videos very helpful with timing, especially DMB songs.
Hell, I still use them occasionally for songs like Neon.

AHHHHHHH, PLEAAAAASE don´t use that as a reference...I forgot it´s up there. It´s terrible and I´m fully ashamed of that video. It should never have even been up. I´ll leave it there but take it with the biggest grain of salt you can find

The intro is fast w/ no slow down...
The verse is played at medium speed then slow speed.
