SoL 2nd guitar part/fills

Unread post by UNCcrombie » Sat Jun 19, 2004 10:24 pm

hey all. i was just wondering if a drop B tuned guitar playing the raised b (capo 7) tuning version would work as a 2nd guitar. something to give the recording a fuller sound

I think he (she? whoever) means drop the low E down to a B, then capo the rest at 7. This would be pretty weird, big contrast between low and high sounds.

no. i have a tuner for my computer, and it gives drop b as an option. i thought it'd give a deeper sound to raised b in contrast? maybe not...

i know you can't tune a regular guitar to baritone tuning, and i dont mean dropping the low e and then using a capo. drop B is an entirely different tuning, but i dont know if it's worth going into if it won't work the way i want it to

Drop B is really cool for solo's and stuff. I did part of a gig (well sorta a gig) with the bottom e droppped down to a B. I'm not sure about a second guitar though

do you think it'd work for playing the verse to SoL (as played the raised B way, not standard) just to give it a deeper feel? or accent the bass?
