Live in Chicago

Hell Yeah, Just got home, what a phenominal show. A bit of a suprise at the end when they ended with What Would You Say. Great show none the less, I'm absolutely loving the new songs. He jammed with all of em. One of the best shows I've been too.

O and BTW OAR was pretty good too. Wasn't great but it was good none the less. Then again they're the opening band only got to play about 4 songs 2 being City on Down and Crazy Game of Poker.

I was also shocked at Dave's use of a capo and the amount of fingerpicking he did, especially on the jam at the end of Jimi Thing.

I didn't even know Dave ever finger picked. I do it quite a bit, but I can't think of a single DMB song that would need to be finger picked.
Stay with me, safe and ignorant.

If I'm not mistaken, I think he's been known to finger pick all of these:

Everyday
Where Are You Going
Grace Is Gone <-- For sure!
Baby
Diggin A Ditch
Sleep To Dream Her
Pay For What You Get?? Maybe not
Christmas Song
Proudest Monkey <-- Don't take much, but on Gorge '02 he fingerpicks it.

I think thats all of em. I know he does strummed versions of Everyday and Where Are You Going too.

He's actually a great finger picker (see Grace is Gone).

I'm pissed I didn't see the show, glad you had fun. I probably asked you for tickets Hendrix.

I concur completely a great show. OAR seemed like they were a lil quiet. Maybe its just that their sound isnt as fat as DMB maybe they just didnt turn them up that high.
The thing about the tweeter in chicago is that the atmosphere is great. I love being outside and the hill is great but you know what ... they dont have the best sound system. Maybe you just take the good with the bad losing acoustics for being outside.

The new songs are great I wish I could remember some of them
Seemed like the band was real fresh and energetic they all look and sound good
people stare and we just ingnore them and they go away go away go away

not that many people were even in the seats and all that were there were sittin down

but both sets were great....my only wish is that dmb and oar coulda jammed

nonetheless, it was still one of the best i have been to

Dave uses a capo?! I thought he never did! On what fret?

I think New Song #5, which was the "Thing" song he played at Bonnaroo. It was capo 3 I believe.
