Multi-track Recording Problem

Unread post by AdamCU81 » Sun Mar 30, 2003 6:37 am

Ok, here's the deal.....I downloaded Cool Edit and went through the awesome tutorial, but when I try to record a second track while listening to the first track, everything that's going through my headphones is recorded onto the second track. So the second track is a horibbly distorted copy of the first track, and the part that is supposed to be on the second track is probably there, but it's all a mess. I plug the guitar directly into the mic input on my computer. Does anyone know if it's possible to record a second track while listening to the first one? If you do, please enlighten me.

Yeah, you should be able to as long as you have headphones on. Just make sure you disable the record button on the first track before you start recording on the second.

I do disable recording on the first track. The problem is that when I record a second track, while the first track plays itself, the second track is recording everything that's also on the first track. I think the problem has to do with the audio driver I use, or the codec or something like that. I am using Yamaha DS1x Native Audio. What drivers or codecs do you use?

I have a soundblaster live card with all the creative drivers so its all probably different, did you look for updated drivers?
