Joe Satriani says he practices everyday for "eight to 10 hours, easily"
When he was growing up, even more than that. I think he said 10 to 13 hours a day.
No wonder why he's one of the best guitarists today.

I do the same thing Thespian does. Hell if I waited for totally free time I'd never get to play! Everyone in my family is used to me sitting there with a guitar in my lap when we're all sitting around in front of the TV. I've become really adept at tuning out background noise as well.

I usually try to practice for an hour a day. Things are very hectic now and I've got a lot of work shite to do. I'm looking forward to getting the John McLaughlin DVD in my hands so I can practice with that. My goal is 2-3 hours a day.

I usually have my guitar in my hands at all times when I'm home and not sleeping. I practice all kinds of stuff from songs and scales, to just noodling around while watching TV or on the computer. Infact thats how I come up with my own riffs and whatnot by watching tv and noodling. I also try and bring my electric (unplugged)to work as much as possible on the weekends but I have to watch out for the big bosses they sneak in every once in a while and try and catch us slacking.
