does everyone have trouble getting a good sound of the strumming with the thumb when the capo is on the 7. I'm not talking of the picking part, but the strum i feel i can't get a bold taylor sound i get on other songs.

Try plucking it instead.

i pluck it and it sounds fine... but every guitar is different.

dave plucks it. watch the VH1 video.

On Sessions@AOL Dave strums it, and I don't have any problems getting a nice sound out of my guitar with the capo on the 7th fret. But I've found that if you strum lightly, and not try to force the sound out of it, you'll get a much richer, and clearer sound. So if all else fails, I would try that :-)
