Planet Waves Strap

Topics about musical instruments other than guitar should go here. There's bound to be a Carter, LeRoi, or Yo-Yo Ma out there.

Planet Waves Strap

Unread post by i like tictacs » Mon Jun 14, 2004 11:50 pm

I'm looking for one. Can't find em at any shops around here. If anyone has one of the wide leather ones, no suede, 2.5"-3" and could tell me where they got it, I'd be in heaven. I'm using some ghetto guitar center strap that's falling apart.

They have a shit load at my GC. but I am happy with my ghetto Dave Matthews one. It 10 dollars, but it suprisingly comfy and has a cool look.

You should also check Levy's Leathers. I have one, its either 3 or 3-1/2" wide, black leather, padded. Looks just like what Stefan uses, only without the goofy brown/orange oval logo.

I looked at yours, I liked it. Do you have a link to it? Also, does it hold your bass rather high? I can't stand it below my belt. Ergonomics, I guess.

It will look the same, but I can say this Levy's leather strap is the most comfortable I've used. It is a little stiff at first. It takes a few hours to start to break it in, but then it starts to soften up and fit itself to your shoulder. And if you have a heavy bass, you need a good wide, padded strap.

I haven't been able to find a link to the one I have. I got mine at a local music store. I can't even find it on the Levy's site (I'm sure its there, I just didn't dig far enough).

ive got a franklin strap, very comfy, one side leather where you can slide the other side suede (wear it this side in and it will basically stay with your shirt)

I have the Levy's rip off planet waves leather, I just picked it up, it's the same thing as the waves but cheaper and doesn't have the logo on the shoulder.

I don't know if the Levy's strap is a "rip off," mine is of good quality, and I think the brown oval Planet Waves logo is kind of cheesy personally. I like the clean black leather strap.
