youre just on a little posting rampage arent ya lol?

well, as youll learn, im the Taylor fanatic around here. but the only one who can decide which is better is you.

if youre looking for a low end guitar (ie not even a 3xx series Taylor) then go for alvarez. dont waste your money on a low end Taylor or Martin.

I think tht if they combined Martin and Taylor and made a guitar like those without being on the extremes of the spectrum (i know extremes are a bad word since each has a little bit of both in each other) but if theyw ere equally matched up it would be the best guitar...

I've felt this way so far and I think I'll always feel this way: Go Martin if you're looking to play solo acoustic or playing with another acoustic guitar player, but go Taylor when playing with a band. Most Martins have a fuller bassier sound which IMO sounds better when playing solo, but a Taylor cuts through very nicely when playing with drums, etc. Either way though, they both sound great :)

a big reason why people say Taylors cut through and have more treble is because the majority of taylors out there are the x14 size and therefore have less bass because of their shape. I have a dreadnaught Taylor and it has a ton of bass. I love Martins too, I'll probably get one down the road. Really when you get into that realm its kind of personal preference on the shape and sound, not the brand so much.

Their are people out there that love Taylors, hate Martins, love Martins, hate Taylors, and everywhere in between. If you are going to go invest money in a nice pricy guitar, go out a play a ton of them. Find your own likes and dislikes about each model and then make your choice. Martin and Taylor both produce excellent guitars but they have different sounds and feels.

This guitar is being made and can be had for much less than a Martin or Taylor. They're called Larrivees.
