Cool Edit Pro Skipping!!!.....

Unread post by billywestom » Mon Mar 24, 2003 9:34 pm

Every time I try to record something, a little glich will mess up the recording, causing a skip in the song. Is there any options or something that i can use to get rid of this? I dont have any other programs running, so it can't be that.

You may not have other *programs* running, but I'm sure you have a hell of a lot of background services running. If you don't have a lot of ram, then these tend to cause skips and pops when recording. So when you're going to record/edit, Ctrl+alt+del everything but cooledit, systray, explorer, antivirus, whatever else you deem important.

Ya, just leave:

explorer
systray
navapw32 (if you're running norton antivirus and you want to keep it running)
cooledit (or whatever it is)

when you're recording and editing and stuff and you should be good to go. XP is a different story, you need other stuff open so i wanted to confirm.

Just be sure to reboot once you're done to restore normal functionality.
