Tapping

Unread post by dmbguitar718 » Fri Jun 04, 2004 8:05 pm

So I've become more and more interested in this style. It's so interesting how you can make one guitar sound like two. Anyway, here's a little clip I recorded of something I threw together. (A variation of a recording I've heard) It's super short. :P It's also extremely rough. This stuff is hard! (I know in 2 months I'll listen to this and laugh at how much it sucked.)

Not bad, rare to hear people wanting to tap on an acoustic guitar.

Don't knock yourself for that mate, it sounds good to me.

Random movie quote to make you seem hip and "with it": The food court is downstairs. The cookie stand is upstairs. It's not like we're talking quantum physics here.

I dont think thats what theyre referring to, I assume theyre talking about fretboard tapping (I havent listened but Im guessing) and JM doesnt do that, ever, that I know of. He slaps and plucks strings on Neon and others

There's no tapping in Neon. There's slapping, though.

not yet, but i definately have some coming. this is the style i plan to pursue. :) not just tapping, but expanding the horizons of the guitar. (hehe)

do you have any of yours recorded? i'd love to hear them as well.

i dont have any recorded as my recorder has crapped out and the songs are still rough around the edges, it might be a while before i get them recorded
