One of my favorite songs, you did pretty good, but I think you could have done much better. You got some kind of voice there, but lots of parts were blaring, and lots of parts sounded like you didn't know what you were doing-like at the end a lot, my favorite part "wise men say, only fools fall in love"--dave hits the notes a certain way and it sounded like you tried it like that, but didn't do very well at it.
I mean, your guitar is solid, just the vocals need some work, but I think you can do it. I don't know if you felt pressured to post ASAP (I feel that way sometimes) but you want you posts to be the best you can do, everyone appreciates that. Good luck if you end up going back over it...

Blue,
Thanks a lot for the comments, I appreciate it. yeah, the singing is coming along, you should have heard my first cover - I think I've gotten a bit better

...I'll keep working on it though, I just Dl'd mtstudio (and it's the bomb by the way) so I wanted to put together something with more than one track. anyways, thanks for the input

Nice sound effects on this one, I really dig the birds chirping in the background. Ha, first it was a chainsaw and a clock, now you got birds in the background. Good stuff. Anyway, yea, guitar was good. a little sloppy on the double-hit part in the verse, but good overall. Your voice has definitely improved since the LIOG cover, for sure. Keep up the good work my son.

Dammit! I just noticed the birds...using an actual microphone got rid of the chansaw (which was really my computer fan) and the clock (which was my processor on my computer), maybe now I need a bb gun...

I'm glad you like it. I just think it's a simple program to mess around with and rerecord tracks quickly if you have to. The only thing is that you have to find another way to convert from WAV to MP3. If anyone has a surefire way, that would be great to post. I used to have a free program that did it quick and easy but I messed up and deleted it while also forgeting what it was called.

Hey Blue,
for Wav -> Mp3,use the "mkw audio compression tool". convienently, it also turns SHN files (from sharing the groove.org, or most other live tapings) into wave files. to find it, google mkw audio compression or "converting shn files to wav" or something like that...the usage is so simple, you drag your file into a window and it pops out the mp3 conversion. it's nasty.

Thanks, I'll definitely check that out. I think I'm going to try and finish Bartender (that I started 3 days ago hahaha) and post it tonight; I'll have a song to test on. Oh yeah:

just a couplea comments...
your vocals were very good at parts, but fell flat at times. guitar was very good but hard to hear. you may want to turn down the vocals a bit and turn up the guitar a bit on your recordings. or place the mic closer to the guitar or something.
overall, i really enjoyed it. keep it up!

Vocals were off from the guitar...mostly they just didn't sync up too well.
That said, the guitar was excellent, I really dug the intro...good stuff man.

Overall i thought it was really good. The vocals did go flat a couple times, but nothing too terrible. I like
Chris
btw, after 2 months of a dead computer i'm glad to be back and posting again.
