The DVD is available for pre-order. It's $175 for about 4 hours of content over 3 DVDs. I'm probably going to get it but not right away. It's available on July 15.

John McLaughlin is the real deal. World-reknown jazz guitarist.tjmac66pc wrote:I don't want to sound like a pending skeptic cuz i don't know much about this guy, but would you guys truly stamp your 100% approval for a lesson dvd such as this? or is this just another moneymaking gimmick?
I pay $25 for a half-hour lesson once a week here in D.C.
Four hours of lessons = $200 and I can't retake them over and over again. John McLaughlin's DVDs are $175. *shrug*
I have the utmost respect for the guy and the DVD lessons look solid. I just pre-ordered it.
He's only one of the greatest jazz (and any genre for that matter) players ever. He's never even considered making an instructional video until the advent of DVD. He always felt VHS was never up to snuff when trying to communicate such a complex topic. This will probably be my first and only instructional video. It's gonna be awesome.tjmac66pc wrote:I don't want to sound like a pending skeptic cuz i don't know much about this guy, but would you guys truly stamp your 100% approval for a lesson dvd such as this? or is this just another moneymaking gimmick?
