I don't want to sound cliche or anything, but I was hooked when I saw the "Satellite" video back in '94 for the first time. Ever since then, I've really enjoyed their music, but not until about 3 years ago did I become a fanatic ;-) But "Satellite" did it for me :-)

i had never heard them until the WWYS video and I like it. I did not become a hardcore fan until 2000 when i saw them live.

my older brother played them for me when I was 9. I got Crash when I was 10 and I thought it was pretty cool. My favorite songs where Too Much, Two Step, and So Much to Say. Two Step is still one of my favorites :D. I think I like them because they all are pretty talented with their music and they work well together, but mostly because they're different. They have a unique sound, and dave's voice is unique as well.

i guess, btw im 14 so its not like i was oblivious for so many years, but i first heard of dave i guess when i was around 8 when my cousin took his future sister in laws to a concert, but didnt knowingly hear one of their songs till i was 11, when i saw the video for where are u going (not the parts with adam sandler) i was lookin at dave and i couldnt beleive someone playing and singing such a veautiful song without any effort, a week later, i started playing guitar because of dave, and have since bought most of the CD's except everyday and a few lives, but dave has kept me playing guitar and inspires me everyday. my first album was crash, and what can i say othe than, it was excelent it wasnt like most bands where they each have parts, where if u took stuff out itd sound ok, but each part fit so well with the other that without a part it wouldnt work. DMB is just too perfect for words, and now that im a fanatic i hope to see my first concert soon, and keep playin DMB stuff on gutiar.

i have just in the recent months past become a big DMB fan, but can remember listening to him years before, loving his music, and the unique style with the violin and woodwind, i had never heard anything like it before and was hooked

the first song i heard was ants marching, and that is probably one of my favorite songs, as is common with many dave fans

i gotta say though, warehouse is crazy live, escpecially live at luther, so i put warehouse up there as a favorite now

I first heard WWYS on the radio and loved it, but didn't buy my first CD until Crash came out. I first saw them on 6-7-1998.

my first time was perfect for what i now see the music as. me and a group of friends were sitting around a fire around 1 am in a certain happy mood. telling jokes and luaghing hard...my cousin came out with a cd, UTTAD, the first song BOWA came on and it was perfect. everyone instantly started getting into the music and we were all bobing our heads to it. as soon as the song ended everyone there was like damn who was that...DMB someone said. the next day i went out and bought UTTAD along with Crash. That was 4 years ago. first concert is in june Columbus cant wait for it. o and i know about 19 of his songs....he def inspired me to get good at guitar and singing.

First time I heard them was in 1994 in the car with my mom, I don't remember, actualy, but I guess that was it. I remember hearing ants marching when I was young. My mom liked them so much, she got UTTAD in 1994.

When i really liked them that much was when I got BTCS in 1998, and i listenend to Last Stop and the Dreaming Tree. Once I really listened to them, I thought, wow, great, amazing. They have a sound no one else has ever sounded like. Then, they are just ordinary guys, who just get up there, all great friends. They are just good people, never selling out, always coming up with new ideas and twists but still being themselves, and keep on trucking, and loving it.

I think it was 2001 at this summer retreat in the cascade mountains near lake chelan, A guy played ants on piano and sang along with a few other guys playing guitar, drums, sax, bass, and violin. I liked it pretty well, but it took some time (more than a year) for me to really get hooked on DMB.

Forget about being guilty, we are innocent instead

i remember riding in my dads car when i was little in the mid 90's.. i have this image of watching trees go by and hearing "what-ah would you say?" .. that's my first memory of dmb. then years later my dad had Crash in the cd player in the car goin..i remember that the "eat too much, drink too much" song stuck in my head...i liked the first four songs on the cd..so i was like dad you gotta burn this for me. so he did.. back then i only listened to the songs i liked....smts two step too much drive in drive out... then my dad brought home listener supported and i gave the rest of the cd a listen. then i thought that bass guy is bad ass and bought my first bass... then we saw both shows last year in hartford and i have all of their cds now :D
