SP1 stands for "Service Pack 1". Its a way of updating Microsoft's jacked up OS. It has updated drivers and stuff. "Windows Update" will get you the latest SP. Its somewhere under the start menu....However, i only recommend you use the web update if you have a high speed connection. MS also has the full SP1 program file so you can download it all at once then install. It may say Network Install Version or something of the sort....

Hope that helps...peace :D

For studio work:
Guitar (Tacoma DM10) with Fishman Acoustic II
and Mic - shure SM58 (kicks ass!!!)
connected to Br-8 8 Track digital recorder

For Live:
Guitar and Mic conncected into a Yamaha EMX62M PA
and Br-8 connected into that. Currently I'm using the
Kustom Profile One speakers (which are very good) but I'm looking to upgrade soon.

Keep in mind you have to have a legally licensed copy of xp - the corporate versions that did not need to be activated will NOT upgrade to sp1.

Bass: Ibanez RG
Drum Programming: Fruity Loops 3.4, Cubase
Sound Recording: Pro Tools, Cakewalk Sonar

I think that is it... barring all the pedals and crap that I have lying around.
The machine is a AMD XP 1.8 with 1GB of RAM and is a a dedicated DAW, and is not running any other applications. I also have a smaller set up on my laptop for when I'm travelling. (just Acid and Sound Forge)
