So I'm trying to get the OHP techniique down. When you go to Vic's site and listen to the example, it sounds absolutley nothing like what i'm trying to do. http://victorwooten.com/lessons/lesson1.htm
When I do it it gets SUPER mudded up, is he muting all the strings when he does this? Cause I can't do it without letting the hammered G ring out. So my question is how do you play it clean? Just practice? Cause I've been trying for weeks now. I can play some of his slower stuff but I have trouble with this technique. I'm sick of gerry-rigging my technique to sound like him. So any advice on how to get OHP to work?

first, i recommend looking at that video at the bottom, that helps the most because you can actually see it and since my computer wouldnt let me play the audio files, thats all i had to find out if i was doin it right.
but one thing, when youre slapping, unless you slap the style where you thumb is parallel to the string, you have to practice to get the hang of hitting the string you want to without hitting the others. so that could be how you get mudded up. im not sure about your "ringing G" but i basically just watched the video and learned the stuff that way.
