Hey all, im new and just want to know...
How do i get a near-perfect studio quality recording with cool edit...
I have a Marshall studio dynamic mic, a beringer eurorack mixer, a M-Audio Audiophile soundcard and Cool Edit Pro, but i cant quite get that sound ive been looking for, and yes, ive read the tutorial. Can anybody give a detailed walkthrough/rundown or send me a cool edit file they've made already that i can examine?
thanks

Dear lensky... glad to have you around... especially with that equipment im looking forward to some badass recordings
here's some things that will really screw up sound so answer these questions and i'll do waht i can to help you (try to answer these tonight... cuz im going out of town for 9 days to follow d/t)
1. what type of sound card are you using (specificly brand, type, and bits it can handle)
2. Are you going through your line-in?
3. If you're going through your line-in are you using the red/white adapters to get left/right channel then converting it to 1/8" to go into your line-in. (refer to picture)

4. what issues are you coming into with yuor sound not being what you like? Are you familiar with the gain / bypass buttons on your mixer... how about lo/mid/hi? these are very important when mastering a production... since we're both using berringer products... let me know.

heres another question....how many minute things do you do to your cool edit recordings (if any), or do you leave them mainly untouched.
i usually apply filters and such to the waveform in waveform view, such as graphics EQ, hiss reduction, etc. ; then apply effects (reverb, hard limiting, chorus) etc. to the wave in multitrack, then do some addition work (fft filter. etc. ) to the mixdown wav.
