OK I was encouraged to post my little deed, so here's what I've been up to. And it even has to do with spreading some shows!

On another board (yeah I know, I'm a board whore) someone posted about wanting to B&P a few shows since he's in Iraq and has listened to the same music so many times through that he's looking for some new stuff. I don't know how he'd think of getting blanks or postage or anything from over there, so I offered him a freebie. I figured sending some shows is the least I could do, since he's over there fighting for democracy of some sort, rebuilding schools and helping people get back on their feet after we bombed the hell out of them.

I sent him my list and had him pick out 36 discs for me to fill up a wallet, and a few DVD's so he could watch some shows. And a word of thanks to Best Buy for their good TDK deal, helping to make freebie possible

To add a little notation to my previous post... I just sent out the discs to Zach and almost 100 bucks worth of art supplies (everything from glue sticks to paper to crayons and glitter). If you can spare a buck or 2 or some other art/gym equipment, check out my other post
Brother can you spare a dime?

Or a quick-job of a website with some photos of who exactly is benefiting from this! Check out Zach & The Kids

Thanks!

Well, I didn't plan on posting in this for the May month... but I actually did something that meant something to me. One of my good friends that I graduated high school with is moving out of her Mother's place like... right now actually... but I hardly ever see her, or talk to her anymore, and I feel bad about falling out of touch with good friends, but... I ran into her at work the other day, she's a waitress at Chili's, and she was our waitress for this encounter. She was telling me about how she isn't making as much money as she usually does on a Friday night, and she said she was going to end up short for her first month rent payment they need to have before they move in for the June month. It was towards the end of her shift, so we get our bill, and it's not that much, but she told me that she was going to be almost $150 short during our random conversations, and if she didn't have it, then she wouldn't be able to move in, and she already signed her lease for the apartment that her and her friend are going to be living in. So I just got paid yesterday, so I throw down what I can spare, I leave her a $100 tip, and a note. She gets online after she gets off work, and she leaves me IMs, cause I'm not home at the time, but when I get home, she is thanking me over and over. She said that she would pay me back, but I told her that she didn't really have to worry about it, but something tells me that she will just because of how she is. But this is my random act of kindness. I couldn't just let her not be able to move out of her Mom's place after her complaining about her Mom, and really want to get out. So I thought I would help her out.

And I know that she's a good friend, and something tells me she'll pay me back, so I don't know if this meets all the criteria, but I had to share my act of kindness :-)

Alright alright...I've got this lady friend who, well she's smart, but when it comes to guys she's really freaking stupid. So anyone, she's going out with this one guy who apparently verbally abuses her to shit, and must have at one point said something like I don't need you anymore now that I've got my car back and he broke up with her. About a week later, he must have lost his license and he asked her back out. For some reason, one I'm not aware of, she said yes. Now just a few days ago, they got into a big arguement and she was very very upset about it. I wanted to make sure she didn't do anything stupid so I told her to call me. After a while of talking to her I finally talked some sense in her to cut off her line with him because its not worth it, that and other things. So far she hasn't said much to him since we talked :)

Yeah..so that's like the nicest thing I've done in a while..

Last year a good friend of mines dad got a drunk drivin accident. Mind you i am still in high school a senoir now at the time junior. So any way he was pretty upset and his mom was upset but coulndt show it because there are 5 kids in the family and him being the only source of income was in jail(not his first offense but first accidnet). So me and some friend of my friend pooled together money and got her a Spa gift cirtficate and Wrote her(the moms) name on it and just droped it in the mailbox.

****WINNER ANNOUNCEMENT****

We have a winner!!! Well, actually 2...it was a tie between amyb and daxman. They each win the grand prize 8 cd disk Gorge box set, plus the DVD show. Congratulations amyb and daxman!

Grand Prize? That must mean there are other prizes, right? Well there are. Each person that posted their act of kindness will receive the 8 cd disk Gorge box set as a freebie :D :D

Acts of kindness are really not ment to be judged, and I realized that early on after this started...so everyone's a winner.

Actually,I really just wanted people to think about the last time they did something nice for someone else.

Stay tuned for the June contest...matty has a great theme in mind 8)

EDIT: I will be getting touch with all of you for addresses so I can send the shows out.
