Bartender Cover - Take a Look

Unread post by BlueWaters » Mon May 24, 2004 2:23 pm

Well here is my second posted cover, after days of avoiding it:

Bartender

...you might notice the file says blue_waters_-_bartender_II.mp3, that's only because right at the end I messed around with Cool Edit Pro and added a chorus effect, 'duel acoustics' or something...so it's a second take on my original cover. Please tell me what you think, all comments and critiques are definitely welcome... Enjoy...

That was cool, man. I like the slow tempo you used, and your voice is great. I think it became a little monotonous seeing as it's so long. Perhaps you could try picking up the tempo between the chorus and verse at 3:13. Maybe a slow guitar solo as well during the outroduction (fade out with it).

Overall, this is some great work. And I insist to complment you on your vocal work again. Heh.

Jer is right, your voice is smooth indeed...it seems like you're holding a little bit back though, maybe the mellowness of you version lends itself to that? anyways, nice guitar work, a little slow for my taste but flawlessly played, and the vocals were very well done also. keep em coming man, you picked two not-cliche songs, so I'd like to hear your next "obscure" DMB song :)

Hey, I'm up for suggestions, totally... let me know what you guys want to hear or something you havent heard in a while. I've been itching to do The Stone, Graves (just cause it's so damn catchy haha), or probably Granny next; I just thought of that one tonight after reading your post. But suggestions are welcome too, I'll see what I can do...

Hmm...suggestion.... Would you try Gravedigger? I think if you made your voice a little more gravely for that song (as opposed to the smooth vocals in Bartender) it would come out nice.

I really like that man, your voice is just damn soothing. Kinda reminds me of Darius Rucker. Excellent cover, post some more..

I'm 21, 22 on June 6...I've been playing guitar for about 3 years now, maybe 3 and a half. My vocals I've been working on and fine tuning for probably about the same time, mostly it began with singing along to songs, DMB of course, then I wrote some of my own stuff, now I've been taking a break and my summer hobby is to cover and record all the DMB songs that I know. I hope it's keeping you guys happy, but everyone needs some work so keep up the critiques and comments if you could, I appreciate it... peace
