the xoosh band do... #41

Unread post by Xoosh » Sun Mar 16, 2003 5:47 pm

hey guys, my band mate and i are workin on some dmb covers... yeah we are new to the whole covering business (well i am heh), but hey let me know what you think... after listening to this i realized the soloing needs to be calmed down QUITE a bit, but other then that any useful criticism would be appreciated. (this was also done on one track, we did it "live" so sorry about the level errors)

Very well done. Both guitars sound pretty good, but as you said the solos need to be calmed down a bit. The only part I would suggest is in the chorus, just have more chords than individual notes. As for singing, it's a very personal thing for many people, including me. I thought it was quite nice, definitely in key. I would just recommend keeping your lungs full of air at all times. Notes would be more "fuller" and easier to transition. The notes seem to sound from the throat rather than the gut. Awesome cover, keep it up :)

guitars sound good. they mix well together. so i can't complain about that aspect, however i can't stand the singing, it just is really getting on my nerves, i don't know why.

it's definitely understandable that the lyrics can get on your nerves, mark is working on his voice, right now he's not able to sing from his stomach and im not sure why... however it's a problem we both recognize... sooo we'll see how it goes... check out the plush cover i think the vocals are better there.
