high e on crash ring or no?
when dave plays crash acoustic with tim or by himself does he let the high E ring out through the verse?

hmm. i'm not entirely sure, i know its ringing on the intro, but it sounds like he might be muting it, or at least strumming it very lightly once the verse starts

well think about it. the high E open is the same note as the B on the 5th fret. so it would just double up that note. give it a good sound.
as to waht i do...i don't usually. i find for muting purposes, its easiest to keep my index laying across the fret board for the most part, and that means muting the high e. maybe i'll fix taht.....

Well, I have seen times when dave lets the high e ring, sometimes not. I guess it depends on how your hand is feeling that day. It might become painful after a while, and you stop it (and Dave sometimes gets rid of the b string as well if it really starts to hurt). It sounds better with the high e IMO, but still sounds fine without it.

During the jam, I play it like this (when solo):
e - 0--0-0--
B - 0--0-0--
G - 4--4-4--
D - 2--2-2--
A - 4--0-2--
E - 0--0-0--
Etc. Sounds great, and it's much easier to move out from C# on the A. Of course, I play the whole song differently from Dave when doing it solo, but I keep the same notes (obviously). That might sound good for you.

Sometimes when i'm really drunk i can pull the whole thing off, which might be in about an hour from now

Happy day off to me! And we'll do it tomorrow!

Thats a good way to describe it.
Forget about the reasons and the treasons we are seeking
Forget about the notion that our emotions can be swept away, kept at bay
Forget about being guilty, we are innocent instead
For soon we will all find our lives swept away
