Excuse my ignorance as a bassist

Excuse my ignorance as a bassist

I'm picking up my guitar of yonder long ago, and learning crash. I have it all, but those "x" notes. Are they the same in bass, as in you mute them/dead notes? It doesn't sound right whatever I do.

yea theyre muted, your fingers usually mute those x's naturally when you form the chord anyways
