So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

on typical sit. when dave plays his harmonics...does he leave his fingers on the 10th fret A string and the 9th fret D string and stretch for the harmonics on the 12th and 7th...or does he completely leave all strings to hitthe harmonics?

I believe he leaves his fingers on cause on some live solo versions you can hear the 10 and 9 right before he hits the harmonics. That's how i play it.

I always thought timmy was the one doing the harmonics.

I think the song sounds fine, when playing solo, without the harmonics. I also would like to know if anyone like this jam I usually play around with

Code: Select all

---10------------8-------------------
----8-----------10-------------------
----x----------- x--------------------
----9------------9--------------------
---10-----------10-------------------
----0------------8--------------------
It sounds cool, play the high E and B strings open every once in awhile... Tell me what ya think. I use my thumb on the low E, 8th fret for the second shape.
If I had it all

I always play the little thing chorus to start the song off when I play it, just like on red rocks.

If you look at the 12-28-93 video of Dave in the record store, he does the harmonics while leaving his fingers on the 9th and 10th frets. He does the harmonics with his pointer and pinky fingers.
