Man I love 12-strings...

Unread post by Versacci41 » Mon Mar 10, 2003 8:09 pm

I just played one for the first time today and i'm hooked...as soon as i have the cash i'm getting one. I played an ibanez today (i'm not a fan of their six strings) but i liked the 12. It could be b/c i have nothing to base the sound or feel to...what kind do you guys have?.

I got a busted old Yamaha all full of nicks and dents, a loose tuning peg, and only 8 strings (laugh if you will but a 12 string is a 12 string) from my brothers friend. (How I actually got it was a funny story involvine me, two hamburgers I was cooking on the grill, and a really hungry guy who really wanted those burgers. Score one for me) I went and got a fresh set of strings for it, strung it up and was hooked from the first chord... A minor... oh what a sweet sweet sound.

Funny story, something like that happened to this kid I know. He was out with a few friends and the kid that was driving happened to have a self-amplfying electric guitar. The guitar was a real piece of crap, it had a speaker in the side of it to amplify sound. Anyway, that kid was real hungry and my friend bought him 3 junior bacon cheeseburgers from Wendy's in exchange for the guitar.

Ya just gotta find the right person in the right mindset. Hang out at bars or college dorms. Put up a sign, "Hamburgers for Sale! One guitar gets you THREE burgers"

ONE person is BOUND to show up, even if its on Saturday night at 1am...
