ATTN: All those having trouble with the stone
( In reference to this thread: http://www.dmbtabs.com/boards/viewtopic.php?t=202 )
I made some videos, hopefully these will help you with the spots you're having trouble with
( Each video is approxamately 3.5 megabytes so i suggest you DL these with broadband )
Video 1: The Intro Riff
http://www.rampromotions.com/part1.avi
Video 2: The Verse Riff ( This part is preceded by the Intro riff when going through the verses, so it's basically video 1 + video 2 when you're playing a verse )
http://www.rampromotions.com/part2.avi
.....here's a closer look
http://www.rampromotions.com/part2close.avi
Video 3: The Chorus Riff ( Very Easy to sing to )
http://www.rampromotions.com/part4.avi
Video 4: Breakdown Riff leading back to Verse
http://www.rampromotions.com/part3.avi
Video 5: Mix it all together and you've got "The Stone"! 8)
http://www.rampromotions.com/allparts.avi
I hope this helps you guys who are having problems with the song, Reply if you have any other questions or songs you'd like me to do. Once again, i hope this helps

the stone
superman,
I don't mean to be critical, and its cool that you took the time to do the video to help out, but I think your verse part isn't quite right. Jkanter's tab is a bit different. the bold 3 is actually what I play instead of the 3 below it but either way is good. the tab book is not as accurate as the man himself.
verse:
E:----------------------------------------------------------------------
B:----------------------------------------------------------------------
G:--3-------------------2-----------------------
D:--x---5-5--2-3-2------(3)-------3--0--2----0----
A:--1----------------5-----3--1----------------3--0--5
E:-3-------------------------------------------
4 1 2 4 4 1 2 1 4 4 1 2 1 4 1 2 1 4 2 3
and the chorus is this, what Jkanter has up.
E:--------------------
B:--------------------
G:--5----5----5----5-- <---4
D:-/3----2----3----2-- <---1
A:------------5----3-- <---3on5(2on3)
E:--------------------
(1)
peace,
Ken

oh
ok, the reason I posted the chorus too, is cause you made a mistake when you wrote it out. The video is cool.
Good job, overall though, man.

superman, you frigging rule..
So the 2-3-2 is a hammer on, ahahahaha... Took a bit for the vid to download on my 56k, but it was worth it. Man, do I feel dumb now, lol.
The verse video is coming along now, slowly but surely, and I'll letcha know how I end up. Thank you very much, especially for playing it slow a few times first, lol!

Re: oh
i guess there's more than one way to skin a cat  i play it like that and it sounds good to me, but if you find something that works better for you, by all means, go ahead 8)gravedigger wrote:ok, the reason I posted the chorus too, is cause you made a mistake when you wrote it out. Re: oh
no biggie, its just that you said that your way is the RIGHT way to play it. I think that the tab on this site is more accurate and beginners should know that. I'm sure the video for The Stone will be up when Jkanter gets his camera back.

It's not a video, just formatted text notation describing the pattern but you might find it useful.

yeah, not to be rude, but you don't exactly play it write as gravedigger pointed out...you might want to fix the vids maybe as to not throw people offsuperman0710 wrote:( In reference to this thread: http://www.dmbtabs.com/boards/viewtopic.php?t=202 )
