pedals

Unread post by taylor414 » Mon Mar 10, 2003 2:10 pm

i was thinking about buyin a pedal with all sorts of different effects but i dont really know much about them. does anybody know of a good pedal with alot of different special effects, i dunno if its possible, but it looks like howie day kinda can start playin a riff, then hit the pedal and it will record the rift and relap it, then being able to solo over it, any information will be good. thanks alot

Random movie quote to make you seem hip and "with it": I'm thinking about getting metal legs. It's a risky operation, but it'll be worth it.

sounds to me like you want a delay....i really reccemend the boss delays....and you can probably find a cheap dd5 too since the dd6 just came out not long ago

howie day ues the dl4 to do the looping. i have one and they are great. they allow you to record up to a 28 second loop. it also has like 14 different kind of delays that are fun to mess with.

i also have the boss dd5 and wil agree that this is a great pedal. you can do a 2 second loop with it....not too long but can loop a quick little harmonic riff (ie. Tim Reynolds Stream).

as for pedals that have many effects, i'm not too sure about. i like to buy a separate pedals for specific reasons. so i don't have so much effects go to waste.....however that is just personal preference.

Peace,

ig you hit the tap tempo/hlf speed button before looping you can record up to 28 seconds.....

it's a little trick that even the instruction manual tells you about....

is there a pedal that can get more then one loop going at once? so say you could get a piano part played at one time, then some chords and then be able to solo over it yourself?

Yeah check out the AKAI headrush... or maybe a Boomarang if you got the money.. A guy I know does his entire backing with a Headrush... Hes got his setup which consist of a drum machine and turnatables and a taylor acoustic and his mic all running into the headrush and you can put sample of sample... so he programs a beat real quick from his turntable then comes up with a weird vocal sound loops that over the beat then comes up with little backing underline guitar parts loops that and in thirty seconds he has the basis for his song and then he kicks in with the song while the loops play over and over... its amazing what you can do with one of those things.
