HELP ME....and my Chet

Unread post by cave_cricket » Tue Feb 11, 2003 9:48 pm

Ok..I have a Chet and there is a problem.....it kinda sat for a bit when I got my Taylor...now I play it and the 2 middle strings D and A are not registering in the amp AT ALL!!! thes rest of the strings are fine just those two....

COuld someone tell what the possible problem is? I figure it's the pickup...but how much to get it fixed....

Man I hope somone knows....

If it's jsut the pickup then I will probably jsut install a Fishman Matrix Natural 2....but that costs $$$

Peace, and thanks for any help....

GOODNESS I LOVE MY CHET...no volume at all eh...pry off the back (that little bugger is over $300 so you might want to let a pro handle it...i leave mine alone)...a control for the volume of every string is adjustable in there  ...I can't think of any other reason...

not loud at all unplugged. it sounds more like an electric when it's unplugged. it is made to be plugged in.

IMHO if you're gonna spend the money that a Chet costs...get a regular acoustic. Firedancer may disagree but I fel youcan get beter guitars in that price range.

Well, I don't disagree that you can get a nice acoustic for the price, all of my Mp3s are done with chet (well 90% of them)...if you play live with a band (like the DMB live), go for the chet...awesome presence and command for a band setting...if you are more into playing by yourself, then go with a Martin in that range...you could also grab a Lakewood for around that price...just my thoughts, whatever you do, don't get an Epiphone Chet

haha thats pretty fun.. cuz thats what i was lookin at (epi chet).... i really want a good acoustic for band setting and solo for somewhere around 4 to 6 hundred... i need an acoustic electric as well.... i know the brand is crappy but does anyone know anything about those rogue acoustic electrics.. i read the description and they have features that higher priced washburns and ibanez guitars have... but they only cost 200.... i was just wandering if anyone knew of any draw backs.... thanks guys

Or in my humbled opinion :D Sorry, I'm kind of a speller freak, just seeing that was like a kick to the nuts to me. That sucks about your Chet man, is it a Epi or Gibby???

i was in a repair shop a few days age and someone brought in a gibson that was not picking up the high e. he said it had something to do with the pickup not making contact with the bridge. the guy said it would take about 10 minutes to fix, and it didn't seem like that costly of a thing.
