Static Problems while recording.. Help!

Static Problems while recording.. Help!

This is my setup:

Alvarez Acoustic/Electric -> Mixer (Behringher Eurorack UB802)
Condenser Mic -> Mixer (Behringher Eurorack UB802)

Then from mixer output -> Soundcard line in.

Anyways... I just bought the mixer and mic yesterday... records fine in cool edit pro, however.. there is too much STATIC... what can I do to fix this problem???
Hardware settings, software settings???

i've never recorded using real equipment, so i don't know what i'm talking about. but static is usually caused by the volume of one thing being up too high. how many volume controls do you have? i'd say don't bring any of them over 80%. but i could be totally wrong. :shock:
