Layla (acoustic)!!!

Unread post by i-am-me » Sat Apr 17, 2004 6:19 pm

you know it....this is one hell of song, so i decided to do a cover.

DISCLAIMER: THESE ARE NOT MY SOLOS!!!! they are clapton's solos. i used a couple tabs and my ear to figure these out, but they're still not exact, so whatever. i haven't been playing long enough to make my own solos sound any good yet, so this is what you get.

it was my first itme doing a multi track recording, so the recording itself is al ittle rough, and for those of you who know the song perfectly, i had to improvise the ending cause i messed up the rhythm track. critique encouraged. thanks you very much.

nice job there mikey

your voice already seems like it's improving...now i would work on projecting more and trying to get less talky...the voice is also kinda quiet so i'd either turn up that track or put some ass behind it...either way, you're improving and that's good

the solos were pretty on, good work, thanks for posting
B+P by offer only...thank you

The guitar on this was pretty good. The voice still needs work as you probably already know. It does sound better than on your first post so you are improving. You still have some control problems (staying in key etc.). Also, it doesn't seem like you've develped a vocal sound yet, but that will come with time. It's nice to hear your improvement, keep postin um.
I'll play it first and tell you what it is later.

Good work Mikey. You've got a very listenable voice, if ya know what I mean.
Some people just don't have it but with some work you could have a really good voice.
Also, it will only get better as you get older.
The key problems were minimal, seriously.
Your voice has alot of potential man.

The solo's were really well done. The rhythm sounded a little stiff at times. Maybe try smoothing it out a little.
Nice cover Mikey.

yea...i could have done much better with the rhythm. i know that. but i wasn't planning on doing more htan one track, so i let it stay at what it was. i even messed up with how many times to play it and had to add an extra track of it. lol. but thanks miguel, hearing that from you really means something. :)

Guitar was pretty good overall. The only thing you need to work on is vocals, and that comes in time :)

Ya, I'll agree with Trippin Hillbilly the key problems are really minimal. It is more like you fall flat a few times, and this can be worked out with practice.
I'll play it first and tell you what it is later.
