Have you tried this one? It's on mxtabs.net

Code: Select all

From: "Zack Smith"
Subject: g/goo_goo_dolls/name.tab
Date: Sun, 19 Dec 1999 04:34:13 -0600

Artist: Goo Goo Dolls
Song: "Name"
Album: A Boy Named Goo
By: Zack Smith, shadysmith@hotmail.com

I have seen many versions of this song, but I believe that mine is the
closest to the actual CD recording. If you have anything to say, please
email me at shadysmith@hotmail.com.
I am confident that this is the most accurate version you will find.
There may be some shady parts in the chorus, but if you listen to the
original recording closely then you should be able to figure them out.
Email me with suggestions, because I am always open for advice. I hope
that you can use this.

Drop the low E string to D.
Raise the G string to A.
Drop the B string to A.

"/" means: slide up

Verse:

I've never heard that song before, but from the looks of the tab, it looks pretty funky. Some unusal chords shapes. I'll have to try that one out to.
Its like... getting two birds stoned at once. (Ricky-trailor park boys).

All goo goo dolls stuff is in awful tunings. Some pretty good songs, its just too bad that you have to restring for some of them.

Thanks guys for helping. I love this place! Everyone is so helpful.
Trippin, i dont think that tab is right because the tuning is not right, but I will give it a shot if you say it sounds good. I dont know how to get my G up to an A tho withot breaking the string. What about tuning the string down to an A? Would this work? Thanks again guys.

tune it up to an a

just be careful and stretch the string out before you do it, it's only one step so it shouldn't break on you

feel free to get at me on aim and i can help you figure this one out

i learned this song, really fun to play, but i used a differnet tab/tuning. this is what i used: http://www.fretplay.com/tabs/g/goo_goo_ ... -tab.shtml

it sounded really good to me and it wasn't that hard to play. this is a recording i made, its not very good as it was when i first to learned to play it, and you can hear my roommate in the background, who didn't know i was recording. also i use using a mic from my headphone set. i also added a little of my own stuff with the high e string. sometimes on the 445000 chord, i would play 445005, and same for th 224000, i would play 224004. i hope this helps.
Duffman says a lot of things. -Mike
