Got my Taylor 355ce on Saturday
Got my Taylor 355ce on Saturday
Its a 2002 and brand new, it had been in the store for a while so I got a nice price on it, over half off the list price. I have been playing it as much as possible, I am really digging the 12 string sound. I haven't picked up my 6 string once since I got it. And its nice to play Matt Nathanson songs the way they are supposed to be played. I don't have a camera up here so I can't take a picture, when I get home in a few weeks I will post some, but here's a pic of the 355ce from Taylor's site

I am loving it too. Its been a little different switching to the 12 string, but I am getting it down. What are some good songs to learn on it, other than any Matt stuffshane wrote:congrats, i love that guitar

any song can be good on a 12er, you just need to be able to play it. get used to the spacing, and then experment. back when my 12er was in playing condition, i would mess around playing a lot of daves stuff on it. Satellite sure was tough hehe.

I've messed around with some stuff, I just really like the bright, full sound. And its my first Taylor so I am in awe of my own guitar. I am getting used to the spacing and all, but I am still a little rough. Some songs sound good with the 12, a few I haven't liked. I tried LIOG and I think I prefer it with the 6, I think most songs where you pick the notes will sound better with the 6. I will have to try out a few others, i am loving Grey Street with itshane wrote:any song can be good on a 12er, you just need to be able to play it. get used to the spacing, and then experment. back when my 12er was in playing condition, i would mess around playing a lot of daves stuff on it. Play some of Dave Matthews songs that he plays on a 12 string... Bartender (might be difficult being in Drop-D, but hey...), Grey Street, JTR, Big-Eyed Fish (very easy song to play if you don't know how to play it) I would highly recommend that more than anything if you're just starting to get the hang of it. I learned the intro to Wanted Dead or Alive - Bon Jovi, and that sounds sweet as hell! But I don't know the whole song
I would also recommend trying Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here, or if anything the Fred Durst, Goo Goo Dolls version of it at least, excellent version, and Ryznek on the 12 string was awesome! That's all I can think of right, hope that gets you started on your way
