If it were "Song Jane Likes" why would he have to re-learn it? He wrote the song didn't he?

Long Days Night seems to make more sense. Not to mention L@LC was recorded in 1996, which wasn't that long after Remember Two Things came out ... Certainly not long enough that he would have forgotten the song ... that he wrote?

Listen to it very closely, turned up fairly loudly. It's "(The) Song Jane Likes". The guy doesn't know the name of the song, but that's what he's saying. The third word (likes) very noticeably starts with an 'l' sound rather than an 'n' sound. The second word (Jane), also sounds remarkably like Jane, although I guess "Days" could be argued as well.

OK, so I think yall are right...I believe the guy says "song jane likes!" or something like that...I think I got "long day's night" from the Bridge when this topic was discussed over there...go figure. Also, at the time of L@LC he hadn't played STJL for about 5 months or so. So maybe that's why he would have to learn it again?

Yes, dear God, it's Song Jane Likes, is what the guy says for crying out loud. And yes, he did write, and come up with the music for it, but did you know that Dave is human?!!? Shocker isn't it!?!? God forbid he forget how to do anything can come so simple to a man such as himself! It happens! And yes he did relearn it, because the following night he played it. So there, this should be the end of the discussion, or so I hope :? ;-)

<edited by author because it was rude>

Looking on the internet, there is no Beatles' song called "Long Days Night" (there is one called HARD Days Night). So, unless Dave is a big fan of Blue Oyster Cult, I think it's fair to say that the song in question was "Song Jane Likes" :)

to completely jack this thread for a moment....
On 3-14-99 someone yells out "Sattelite!" (about 4 songs after they played it) Dave says "apparently he just arrived"(laughs)"Probably been smokin to many of them damn reefers." It was the funniest shit!

we weren't trying to be annoying, just trying to figure it out. After I listened closely I heard "Song Jane Likes". You are right bro. Ha, I noticed that he played it at the next show too.
