Dave's tricky fingers...

Unread post by dmbsaxboyz » Thu Oct 03, 2002 12:31 am

Does anyone else try to figure out what Dave is going to play at the shows by looking at his fingerings?(I use my binoculars) I probably get about 3/4 of them right...

Do you mean anyone else besides you??? Just in case you didn't know, I tab all my songs from video's of Dave playing. Nothing on this site is tabbed by ear(I watch it then play it to make sure I got it right). Anyway....hope you enjoy the site....later

no, I mean try to guess what he's going to play next at the concert.. I'm well aware that the tabs are done from videos mostly...I just like to know what he's going to play before everyone else... I know, I need a hobbie...heh

Nope.....you are not the only one. I can guarantee that half the people who visit this site and are hardcore DMB fans do that. Hell yeah I do it. It's fun. I'll listen to the little noodling's before(never had binoculars) and try and call it. My girlfriend thinks I'm nuts.....oh well, at least there are more nuts people out there :D ....peace

Me and my bro try to call the songs before he plays them. I normally go by what guitar he picks up next and the "doodles" he does before he plays. The last show we went to in Tinley Park, IL, I called the opener and encore. It's always fun.

I haven't seen the boys in about 2 years now. :( On this past tour, the few shows that I could have gone to were right in the middle of my finals schedule (and none were closer than about 1.5-2 hours away).

And Knoxville, you're right. European fans don't get much love.

I just moved to this Daveless wasteland in the Pacific Ocean that the locals call "Hawaii." I've been to a couple shows in the past couple years but it's gonna suck to miss them next summer! I think it's time they followed in the footsteps of Britney Spears and Janet Jackson and do a big Live in Hawaii show on HBO... Although stuff sells out instantaneously here so I'd probably never get tickets...

I actually think the last time they gave a concert in Denmark (and Europe) was in '96 at Roskilde Festival! Of course I didn't know them then!!! CRAP!

hey everyone, names nathan. this is my first post! anyways, i never used to focus on what dave was playing until i found this web-site. unitl now i've just tried to pick the songs out by ear. i was surprised to see what songs i actually did and didn't have right. *new topic* the only guitar music i play is dmb(i can play all of them), does anybody have any suggestions of music i should go on to learning after learning dmb? what are some of dave's musical influences?

Actually, my first concert (7-9-00) I called the opener (warehouse) and watchtower when he played it mid set.

The 7-26 show was great and my good friend called Proudest Monkey, although he called it before every song, so I don't think that it counts. It's a lot of fun to try and figure them out and even more fun when you are right!!!!

Sorry, I was talking about the 7-26-02 show ( this summer). Great show, the nancies teases followed by WAYG and Warehouse just blew me away. The Proudest Monkey/Satellite set reminded me of the Red Rocks album when he played those two back to back.

The 7-26-02 show was much louder and clear than the night before (7-25-02). I guess because it was being webcast.

Where were you sitting?
