Some of my original recordings

Unread post by Jc » Fri Apr 02, 2004 2:09 pm

These are just pre-pre-production sound clips (made for jc-reed.com only) for some of my songs and once my web designer finishes some other stuff on the site, we will be able to see how much room there is too add some studio session mp3's. Proof that I'm not JOHN MAYER!!!!!!!

I listened to one of them, and it sounded pretty good. I didnt hear much of a mayer connection though...

Nice stuff there bro. My only complaint is that both of those mixes are too short! Get some full length stuff up there! :D

The only connection I could really make to John Mayer was that you dropped a few bluesy licks, and nowadays most acoustic bluesy licks are tied in J. Mayer because he's the only popular musician doing them.

That's what I meant though. I don't think I sound like Mayer AT ALL. I've been told so much that I sound like John Mayer from the gigs I've done, and on this MB as well. I just wanted to show that in my own songs you can hear my voice (good or bad). I respect Mayer, and I think he's a great live guitarist, but I do get a little annoyed that everything I do garners some kind of Mayer comparison. It's so strange to me cause I didn't set out to copy his style what so ever :?

Thanks man :) I've got to reiterate that these are just my home made pre-production recordings and they are up as fillers (made specifically for the website to be honest) until we see where we are with bandwidth. THEN I will put some stuff from Summerhouse Records studio sessions up. Better quality of course, and with other instruments played by Chris (drums, shakers, anything percussive) and Mike (bass). Btw I'm waiting on my webdeveloper to finish up the other mix I sent him (he's gonna size it down a bit like the other samples) and he'll have it up soon.
