So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

WWYS is so much fun. In the past couple days I've found myself loading up L@FF just to play along with WWYS cuz it's fun, especially during the jam.

this may sound wierd dude but the same thing happened to me, i had tried to learn it a few times before and i always pushed it off as too hard, and then one day i was just messing aroung and tried to play it and it all just came together. i cant play the jam yet either, but im hoping for the same type of miracle.

me too! i think it has something to do with with just those little bits of practice and remembering. it's like riding a bike. it takes forever to learn and then bahmo it's easy and you're riding your bike all over the place. most songs work like that for me.

before i could get either the fingering or the picking right
and to think dave doesn't even fingerpick the song...

no worries...i can't get it to sound right with muted strumming like dave...i pick with a pick.

as far as picking it up and playing it all of a sudden...its no doubt your practice...and I really believe that sometimes taking a break from practicing something so hard is positive a lot of times...fresh start when you come back.

if im not mistaken, dave doesnt do mute strumming on this song. he simply hits only the strings he wants to play. which is probably even harder than muting everything else.

correct you are..my fault...i used the word "strumming" improperly - that's what I was trying to get across though...is that he doesn't pick each note like most of us prolly - i think he mutes everything but whats needed and kinda just "hits" them casually...if you know what i mean.

i think i remember someone sayingsomething about that....[/quote]

 LOL....yeah i hear that....and I'm sure once you get it down, it's much easier than picking - i think that's prolly why dave plays this way.
