Appreciating this Guiitar, Martin

Unread post by Noreason81 » Fri Mar 26, 2004 1:34 pm

I just wanted to post this link to a beautiful guitar that is on the martin site, and this will also be my first post on these boards. Hello to everybody. I am looking foward to learning a lot. I almost have the stone down, but it is hard to keep up to speed on it, I have only been playing for 8 months. I also learned how to play one sweet world, I think it is a fun song.Anyways, here is this link and here is another one.

welcome to the boards, however, i must say that i dont like that guitar. i think it looks tacky. i love acoustics cause of their simplicity, some wood and some strings, but that guitar looks like a martha stewart crafts project.

I agree with you to a degree on the tackiness, but I was just in awe of all the work that would go into a guitar like this. I was just trying to say that it took a good amount of craftsmanship to make a guitar like this, and that martin's are sweet sounding.

Yeah, I can respect the amount of work that went into this one... I'm also more partial to the simpler acoustic's, but can DEFINITELY appreciate this one.

Does that really say list price of $100k? I'm thinking my eyes must be crossed or something, and I'm seeing too many zeros.

I think I'd rather buy like 33 different $3000 guitars.

The $100k one in the first link is ten times cheaper than the second one. Try 330 different $3000 guitars. Now thats just not right.

I don't understand why they build guitars like that. I also dont understand who would buy a guitar like that and for $100000.00?
damn, thats a lot of money.

if you bought that guitar it would never get played. i mean 100,000$!
i would not let anybody in the same room as it and quite frankly the point of owning a guitar is to play it not let it sit on the wall. i hate when they do that shit! i mean gibson does the same thing some old rich guy buys just to say he has it!!!!!!!

fuck

Well I'm not an old rich man...but I do have the guitar. I used my summers allowance and shoveled some driveways this winter. I play it a lot. I let anyone who wants to. play it and borrow it too. It's a pretty nice toy.

I think it's bloody disgusting. That much inlay makes the guitar look cheap and tacky. And 100k for a guitar? That's just sick.
