Mayer covers

Unread post by trippinants13 » Thu Mar 25, 2004 11:23 am

What is with all the Mayer covers on this board. I thought this was a DMB site. Aren't there Mayer boards to post these recordings? I personnally think JM is a talented guitarist, but there is something about his music that rubs me the wrong way. I want to hear DMB covers so that I can learn the songs I enjoy. Oh, originals are always welcome. It is wonderful to hear someone's recording when it is their own blood and tears. :?

I'm tired of the dmb covers too. I usually don't listen to the dmb covers anymore. Just originals, and covers of other stuff.

My voice sounds more naturally like John Mayer than DM so I figured it made more sense to do a Mayer cover in my case.

Ya, this post probably was created in response to me and my influx of mayer covers. In my opinion I like to listen to covers by any artist in order to help others with thier musical skills. I think this board is more about learning how to improve than just posting covers everyone will like. Personally, I don't care what artist you cover, I enjoy mayer's songs because they are difficult to play and they help me with my singing. If you don't like them don't listen, it's as simple as that.
I'll play it first and tell you what it is later.

I agree it's all about improving, and covering Mayer songs does seem to have that effect I've noticed.
