The best advice I can offer, is to listen to the recording and try to play along. That's the best way for me to get the rythm of it all. I was stuck on getting the right timing for The Stone, but after listening to the song and just trying to "feel it", I got it quickly thereafter. Sorry I can't offer anything better.

Well you're not going to get any help saying shit like that. and if you made any sense what-so-ever, people would have an easier time trying to figure out what your problem was.searly wrote:ya Dancing Nancies....any help or u justa smart ass
The little thing with the B and E strings is hard to explain. It's kind of like a muting them (with the index finger) while you play the chord, then right before you change chords, you "un-mute" (by slightly lifting the bottom of your index finger) the B and E and get them to ring really fast and then mute them as soon as you make the change, rinse and repeat. I hate to say it, but "play along with it and it should come to you in time."

Hey, I am just trying to help, and I told you no offense, but I didn't know what you were talking about.
It's more like he doesn't really touch those during the actual chord. Now for the hammer on. After you strum, the last 1/3 of the time til you hit the next chord, you work your pick/fingers down to the b and e while they are open, and you do a very quick strum quickly strum the hammer-on with your index releasing the chord to do the hammer-on, and switch immediately to the next, and on that chord, do the same.

When in doubt always go for a Dave and Tim recording of any song you can't quite get. It's helped me immensly (sp??). Just thought I'd throw that in there..

There's a great visual of Dancing Nancies on farm-aid.
I know a song can be difficult with just the tab but i've always been able to figure out a dave song with the tab since i know all the songs.
I've always said that you can't learn a song until you know the song lyrically and musically. If you can't sing the song word for word(without the guitar) then you probaly aren't ready to learn the song on the guitar.
I'm not bashing here though(by any means), just advice.
peace.
