So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

You Never Know and The Dreaming Tree were never played D&T or Dave solo right?

you are correct.

For future reference, http://www.dmbalmanac.com is a pretty good reference for that kind of stuff. Its kind of scary how detailed that site is.

Speaking of DT, I heard a story about how that song wound up on BTCS on the 41 lyric archive site. Probably bull, but it goes like this. DMB was working on the album and Dave's girlfriend brought her two friends Ben Affleck and Gwyneth Paltrow to the studio. They weren't gonna put Dreaming Tree on the album, but those two really liked it. They praised it a lot, and maybe to some degree, helped persuede them to put it on the album. Sounds bogus, but does anyone know if there's truth to this?

Sounds like a load of bull to me, but that's just my opinion, I suppose it's possible. Oh, and has anyone else heard what sounds like a studio version of #41? I downloaded one off kazaa one time that's kinda bad quality, but doesn't sound like it's played in front of an audience.

Yeah, I thought it was bullshit too. Didn't hear about the #41 story though. Indulge me.

I refuse to believe that Bennifer had anything to do with Dave. GP is ok though cause she makes me tingly down there.

I thought that Stephan helped write it and that it was more his idea to put it on the album. Thought i heard that somewhere here.

That whole DT thing sounds too out there, and could have some truth to it. Hang on one sec, I'm gonna call Dave and see if he remembers.....dialing....(434) 924-****.... Hmmm? He's not there so I left a message. He may be on his way to the studio he said he had some work to do today. Sorry I'll let ya' know later.

I definitely heard the Ben Affleck story on 95.5 WPLJ in New York when they had a Sunday night dedicated to Dave Matthews (I believe they were promoting the concert they did with him, John Mayer, and the guy from Matchbox Twenty). They would play a song then tell a story or have a clip from an interview with Dave Matthews. But they definitely did tell that story.
