I've always used elixir lights...and tonight I got mediums...I have a gig tomorrow night...is there a big difference between the two that will hinder my performance? Should I wait to change my strings?

Haven't used Elixir's yet, but when I changed from Martin lights to John Pearse mediums, I noticed a difference.. I would wait until after your gig

depends on how strong your fingers are

it probably won't affect you, but the should be a difference if you've always played on lights
B+P by offer only...thank you

well if the strings you have right now are dead then i would definately change them tonight. you will notice a difference between the lights and mediums, i always used mediums and tonight all they had were lights so i bought them and they definately a lot brighter. i'm not sure if i like them yet but they still sound pretty good.

but i love mediums and would recommend that you use them anyways :)

There is a definite difference. If your fingers have been playing lights all this time, theres a good chance your hands will get tired with mediums. It takes more hand strength to fret them. I'd wait, unless your strings right now sound like total crap. Then again, you could put them on and be totally fine.
