***OFFICIAL BUTCH RULES THREAD***

Topics about musical instruments other than guitar should go here. There's bound to be a Carter, LeRoi, or Yo-Yo Ma out there.

I agree that butch is very talented, but to be honest I like the band better without him. Not to say that roi or boyd is better, but I would take a roi or boyd solo over his anyday. The keys bore me. (Especially on Two Step.)

Bring back Tim, and we're talking.

I would like to see a tour with only the band members. Maybe a guest appearance for a song or so...but a tour with only the band would be sweet....

Peace,

*Twelve-year key veteran takes offense at that.*

How the keys could bore anyone is beyond me, a 15 year veteran, so take that trippin! :) Butch's musicianship is rivaled only by Carter's in the band. He fills out the sound, adds some spunk and funk, and tears it up on some sweet, jazzy solos.

id say carter takes the cake overall without a doubt though :D
only drummers knows how good he really is

unless you're a piano player, you can't appreciate Butch though...

16 years!! Well, I started 16 years ago but haven't played the WHOLE time. And as for Butch, anybody who can make a keyboard actually sound like an electric guitar gets a gold star in my book.

Ahh, but Pilot, I've only been around for 19 years, which means I started when I was 4. Can you beat that?? :)

Cave, I know you can appreciate the piano, but what I meant is that only piano players can appreciate Butch in the way that only drummers can appreciate Carter.

I guess I should restate. The keys bore me on dmb songs. I like them in a lot of other bands, but for some reason they dont hit home with dmb. I personally liked Griesar better, if you want an honest opinion from an average dolt who doesnt play the keys. :)
