"I Was Just Thinking"

Unread post by GreedylilPig » Sat Mar 13, 2004 10:42 pm

Here's a song that I think anyone who has ever missed someone or wanted something more out of a relationship can relate to. It's titled "I Was Just Thinking" and was originally done by Teitur. Please let me know what you think.

I Was Just Thinking

Lyrics:
I was just thinking
That I have been missing you for way too long
There’s something inside this weary head
That wants us to love just instead
But I was just thinking
Merely thinking
And I’ve got loads of pictures
I’ve got the one of you in that dancing dress
But man, I feel silly in that dim light
Just after doing you by the sight of my Kodak delights
I am sinking
Merely sinking
And I think about long distance rates
Instead of kissing you, babe
I’m a singer without a song
If I wait for you longer my affection is stronger
And I, I was just thinking that this boat is sinking
And I’m tired of postcards
Especially the ones with cute dogs and cupids
And I’m tired of calling you and missing you
And dreaming that I’ve slept with you
Don’t get me wrong I still desperately love you
Inside this weary head
I just want us to love just instead
But I was just thinking
Merely thinking
And I think about long distance rates
Instead of kissing you, babe
I’m a singer without a song
If I wait for you longer my affection is stronger
And I, I was just thinking that this boat is sinking

fantastic! you're voice is perfect for this kind of song... there was only one part where your voice seemed like it went a little off was the ..'desperately love you' bit.. Not sure if that's the note you were going for cause its sounds a little strange.
Other than that tiny nit pic thing, great cover.

That one's going on my ipod.

Really nice work... at first, I wasn't feeling the groove of the vocals... then after about 30 seconds they grew on me and I've listened to it like 5 times now. I totally dig the style... unique voice.

Question: Is that a keyboard or guitar? I like the sound of the notes... wondering if I can create something like that with my guitar.

I just wrote it out and scanned it and uploaded it. If you have any questions let me know. It's at the end of the post.

It's a guitar. I just have a soundhole pickup on it and I plug it straight into an input. No special effects or anything. I guess that's just the sound of the guitar.

Thanks for taking the time to listen, everyone.
