Ants Marching cover

Unread post by AdamCU81 » Tue Mar 02, 2004 2:19 am

And here's another one. It's a one track recording, and all I really have to say is now I know why Dave turns away when he wails the high part. I hit it kind of hard, so beware, and make sure you don't have any glass in the vicinity.

It's on the top of this page:

Positive feedback is welcome....but an honest nitty gritty critique is more helpful. Thanks.

I was really trying to see if I could find any flaws in this cover, but there really werent any. Guitar was on point, and vocals were very good, especially that high part. I liked the whistle solos, awesome. Umm the only picky thing that I would say is that the "Candyman teasing the thoughts..." part wasn't as sold as the rest of the cover. Practice it a few times and this cover would be really great to play live.
I'll play it first and tell you what it is later.

That was damn good, no critiques here. You could pick at some minor flaws in it, but nothing that you couldn't easily remedy. You've got that song down, no doubt about it. I was feeling your singing, nice clean guitar sound, the recording quality was good, and uh... you're a hell of a whistler too. :D Don't know what else to say... Great job!

That was damn good brother!!!! The whistling was awesome, never would have thought of that myself. I have nothing bad to say about this cover, you did a hell of a job on it man! Keep the recordings coming! :-D

Yep, that was pretty solid, espeically for a single-session one track recording.

that was great...i really enjoyed the little (which what i'm thinkin is hittin the open e string with whatever is already fingered for the chord on the b string?) ditty you threw in after each chord instead of going right to the mute...and the whistling was awesome...great job...i did think you could let loose a little bit more on the 'take these chances' part...you've definitely got the voice capability to peel the paint right off the walls, so go ahead and do it eh...great job again!
B+P by offer only...thank you

Advice, try some obscure covers if you plan on doing any covers from time to time... cause if you do a DMB song the entire crowd will start bugging you for more of his stuff and you can't get as much into your own songs.

haha! i haven't heard it yet...but from people saying the whistling thing...i have to say that i love doing that. like i whistle rois part, or boyds, or whatever. same thing in coldplay songs, like i'll substitute for other instruments with whistling. good stuff! i'll listen when i can.
