Uh...you could just learn to read sheet music. I mean, tabs are really on accesible for instruments with frets. Break the mold for christ sake. Sorry to come off as an ass, but I am really against this whole tablature, and last I checked sax tabs didn't even exsist.

I can read music and I still prefer tabs. It makes it much less complicated. If you worked on tabs a little bit to make it more relevant to sheet music, it would be genious for fretted instruments.

see that's always been my principle. Tabs are like training wheels. I won't bother going into that, I think you get it already. People rely far to heavily on them. Wow you can play Jimi Hendrix licks, but when I say Cmaj7 chord you're lost. That's what makes me sad. People are really intimated by sheet music and theory, but if you just dive right into and actually try, you will find that it's not actually that bad, and it helps sooooo much.Bartender2424 wrote:Well hell, how good could they be? Really laerning how to ear and read music is the best thing you could have, tablature is a guide to learning. They can only help so much.

You got it, theory is so important, as is being able to read but not as much as theory. People jus wanna pick up an instrument and say,"I wanna play.... Grey Street on Violin, wheres a tab?" When really if you just got the sheet music and learned it, itd be a whole lot better than any rare violin tab. Music is time consumin, if you dont wanna learn about it as you would other subjects (i.e. History, Math, etc.) youll never be as good as you can be, on any instrument.DreaminBassMunky wrote:see that's always been my principle.
