A Cover of Tim Reynold's "You Are My Sanity"

Unread post by Ritz Bitz » Thu Feb 19, 2004 12:23 am

Yeah, so I just got my guitar back from the shop with a new fishman matrix natural pickup installed. I figured I'd make a small recording to test it out and see how it sounds. I decided to cover this song because it's one of my favorites to play, and one of the easier Timmy songs. 8) Comments and criticism are welcome.

Oh, and if you could also leave comments on the recording quality as well, I would be a very happy lad. :D

That was awesome - you're a gifted guitarist. A couple dead notes throughout but amazing as a whole. Quality was exceptional. I'd be satisfied with the pickup. Very rich tone. It's awesome to hear Tim Reynolds covers. You're doing a fine job.

Thanks guys. I'll throw another cover or two up today. :D Oh, and if you haven't heard Tim play it, I know he occasionally played it on the 94 D&T tour. Although, that version was a bit different than the one I covered. Then again, Timmy's songs are always a bit different every time he plays them.

Yeah, my server seems to be momentarily down. Whenever it does this though, it goes right back up in a minute or so.

excellent, my friend! it seemed like you went a little too fast/slow in some places, but overall very very very solid. great job, and keep up the outstanding work.

That was great. Your guitar sounded incredible. Now I am off to learn that song. I keep putting it off...

Second time through after the solo part was a little rushed.

Question: Did you use a DD6 for the loop part or did you just loop it with your recording program? I tried to time the loop in my head, and I think it would work on my DD6 but ill have to give it a try.

Two thumbs up.

That was absolutely sick. That is the kind of thing that makes me keep practicing. You're a very gifted guitar player.
